VE/LA began in a borrowed corner of an art store on Sukhumvit 42, in the middle of a Bangkok lockdown, in 2021. Pete Kasidit Prasitrattanaporn was sixteen. There was no shop front, no staff, no plan beyond a single question worth answering properly: what does a cup of coffee look like when someone actually cares about it.
Five years later, that question has a home. haus VE/LA opened on 26 July at 186/67 Sukhumvit 53 in Thonglor, on the brand's fifth anniversary. It is the global flagship, and the first place built to hold the whole of VE/LA's history rather than a single moment of it.
That history lives in a menu called The Archives. Five drinks, one for each year, each one a small record of where the brand was at the time.
2021 — Sweet Sixteen: Banoffee Ombre. The first year. A drink built the way the brand itself was built, layer by layer, with nothing hidden behind polish that hadn't been earned yet.
2022 — All or Nothing: Old Fashioned Cold Brew. The year the shop began to take itself seriously. Fewer ingredients, more discipline. A cold brew with nowhere to hide.
2023 — Sticky Situation: Mango Sticky Rice Latte. A Thai classic, rebuilt without irony. This was the year VE/LA stopped importing ideas and started drawing from home.
2024 — The Affair: Earl Grey Matcha. Two traditions that had no obvious reason to meet, put together anyway. The year the brand got more confident about mixing what it liked rather than what matched.
2025 — Home: Haute Brewage Pour Over. Slower, quieter, more precise. A drink that asks for a moment rather than a minute.
Each one is available only at haus VE/LA. Not because the recipes are secret, but because the menu only means something in the place built to tell the full story around it. Order from The Archives and you're not just tasting a drink, you're reading a chapter.
The building itself was chosen with the same logic. haus VE/LA sits in Thonglor's design district, among the architecture studios, ateliers and quiet storefronts that share VE/LA's instinct for restraint over spectacle. It was built to be the place VE/LA always meant to become: unhurried, considered, and entirely itself.
Five years is a strange amount of time to mark with ceremony. Long enough to have a real story, short enough that most of the people who lived it are still behind the counter. The Archives exists so that story doesn't just live in memory. It lives in a cup, and it's still being poured.
haus VE/LA is open daily at 186/67 Sukhumvit 53, Thonglor, Bangkok. The Archives is a site-exclusive menu, available only at this location.
